Goldbach Interactive has developed and managed the smart car Configurator worldwide for about ten years. With the launch of the smart fortwo in the United States, 70% of leads were turned into buyers.

The Car Configurator - a successful tool
Goldbach Interactive is responsible for the design and business process definition, design, technical implementation and data management for all of the 45 countries that use the Car Configurator. The Car Configurator is the most important service tool on smart.com, offering pricing and rental calculations whilst accessing the product database specific to each country - also realised by Goldbach Interactive. Using an interface to the central marketing database, the dealer can process test drives and enquiries as well as brochure orders. The Car Configurator is based on AJAX, Intershop / Java and Oracle.
The extensive Usability Tests of users' preferences were evaluated from the various countries. Predefined models help users get started in the configuration. Equipment modules with a high contribution margin will be retrieved in the sales process first.
